Great to see this film again
The last time I saw this film was back around 1979 when I was in a high school history class. I still recall students laughing initially at the racial stereotypes, and then gradually becoming quiet as they became increasingly embarrassed. I thought then, and I think now, that the simplicity and directness of this film makes it work. However, I am not sure how I feel about the "punchline" at the end. It has been terrific to see this film again. It has lost none of its punch.
